Job description:As a Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. Registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and familiar with all the relevant legislation and regulations.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the homes staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion and empathy.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a team of skilled care professionals who are committed to delivering person-centred care.
- Ensure that the home meets all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain excellent standards of care and support.
- Manage the homes budget, ensuring that financial targets are met and costs are effectively managed.
- Develop and implement a well-thought-out marketing plan to maintain full occupancy and promote the homes services to potential residents, families, and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and all stakeholders, responding effectively to their needs and concerns.
- Have oversight of all records to ensure that the homes administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the homes performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Manage and mitigate risks effectively, ensuring that the home is a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.
Skills and attributes:
- Previous experience of managing a nursing home.
- A good working knowledge, with a proven record of CQC standards and can work towards achieving Outstanding.
- Good communication skills and can maintain excellent working relationships at all levels, internal as well as external professionals, families and visitors.
- A proven track record of marketing and business skills within the private care sector, running a commercially successful, good or outstanding rated care home.
- Enthusiasm and passion for developing high level of person-centred care.
- Ability to actively participate in the growth and development of the care service.
Qualifications required for the role:
- NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience- Desirable but not essential.
